Barry Finishes 10th in High Jump at World Championships

BEIJING, China – Trevor Barry, an assistant track & field coach at North Dakota State, finished 10th in the high jump at the IAAF World Championships inside Beijing National Stadium on Sunday.
Barry cleared 7-04.50 (2.25m) in the high jump finals to take 10th place for his native Bahamas. Canada's Derek Drouin won the gold medal.
In the qualification round on Thursday, Barry jumped a season-best 7-06.00 (2.29m) to advance to the world final.
Barry earned a bronze medal in the high jump at the 2011 World Championships and competed in the 2012 Olympics for the Bahamas. Between the indoor and outdoor seasons, this was Barry's fifth World Championships appearance.
Barry joined the NDSU coaching staff to direct the Bison jumpers starting in the 2013 season and will be entering his fourth year this fall.
