Morlock, Bison Roll to 24th Straight Home Win 41-14 Over Weber State

FARGO, N.D. - Running back Chase Morlock accounted for 212 yards and two touchdowns as No. 2-ranked North Dakota State rolled to its 24th straight home win 41-14 over Weber State before a crowd of 18,801 at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Morlock had a career-high seven receptions and 136 receiving yards including scoring strikes of 55 and 47 yards less than 3 minutes apart early in the second quarter to give NDSU a 21-7 lead.

The Bison (1-1) went up 28-7 before halftime on a 23-yard passing play from Carson Wentz to Zach Vraa, and NDSU extended the lead to 34-7 in the second half with a pair of field goals by freshman Cam Pedersen from 27 and 37 yards.

NDSU had 407 yards of offense at halftime and outgained Weber State by a 586-206 margin.

Wentz finished 19 of 29 passing for 281 yards and three touchdowns.  He split time in the second half with redshirt freshman Easton Stick, who did not pass but had three carries for 24 yards including an impressive 21-yard jaunt on his first play from scrimmage.

Wentz carried eight times for 76 yards including a 27-yard scoring run on NDSU's first drive for a 7-0 lead.

Weber State (0-2) tied the game late in the first half on a 68-yard passing play from Jadrian Clark to Cam Livingston, who caught five passes for 98 yards.  Eric Wilkes had a 100-yard kickoff return for the Wildcats' only other points early in the fourth quarter.

Middle linebacker Nick DeLuca led the Bison defense with eight tackles and one sack.  Cornerback Jordan Champion and backup linebacker Matt Plank each made five stops.

North Dakota State hosts North Dakota at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the first meeting between the schools as Division I opponents.
