NDSU Men Open Competition at Baldy Castillo Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team opened competition at the Baldy Castillo Invitational hosted by Arizona State on Friday, March 18, taking part in the hammer throw on the first day of the meet.
NDSU junior Alex Renner took seventh place in the hammer throw with a mark of 198-1 (60.39m). Senior Brandt Berghuis placed eighth with a toss of 191-10 (58.48m).
Renner is the defending Summit League champion in the event, and both he and Berghuis qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds last season.
NDSU junior Brian Blasey threw 155-7 (47.43m) for 18th place in the meet.
The Bison only competed in one event on Friday, with the majority of events scheduled for tomorrow at Sun Angel Stadium.
