The North Dakota State men's track & field team will compete at the five-team Husker Spring Invite in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday.
In addition to host Nebraska, the Bison will line up against Northern Iowa, South Dakota and South Dakota State. NDSU is currently ranked third in the Midwest Region by the USTFCCCA. Nebraska is No. 4, and South Dakota State is No. 13 in the Midwest.
The meet is scheduled to begin with the women's hammer throw at 9 a.m. Running events will start with the 4x100m relay at 2:05 p.m.
NDSU currently leads The Summit League in seven out of 20 events, including all four throwing events with Alex Renner (shot put and hammer throw), Payton Otterdahl (discus) and Matti Mortimore (javelin). Other league leaders for the Bison include Jerome Begin (400m hurdles), Brendan Skime (3000m steeplechase) and Brock Larson (decathlon).
The Bison have the top four performers in the league in the hammer throw, javelin and decathlon. Three weeks into the outdoor season, the NDSU men have already established 11 new marks that rank among the school's all-time top 10 lists.
