The Game: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (10-5, 2-0) hosts the IUPUI Jaguars (7-8, 1-0) inside the Scheels Center on Thursday, Jan. 5. The Bison won two out of three meetings against the Jaguars last season, with each team winning at home and the Bison emerging victorious in the quarterfinals of the Summit League Tournament.

About IUPUI: The Jaguars went 6-8 in non-conference play and opened Summit League action with an 89-71 home victory over Western Illinois on Dec. 31. IUPUI is 2-8 on the road this season, with wins at Ball State and Southern Utah.
Senior guard Darell Combs leads IUPUI with 17.9 points per game this season, and senior forward Matt O'Leary is averaging 14.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest. The Jaguars commit an average of 21 fouls per game -- the most in The Summit League.
Head coach Jason Gardner is in his third season at IUPUI. The Jaguars finished 13-19 overall last season, but went 9-7 in league play to finish fourth.
The Series with IUPUI: NDSU leads IUPUI 11-8 in the all-time series. The Bison had won six meetings in a row between the two schools until IUPUI won on a buzzer-beating three-pointer in Indianapolis on Jan. 31 of last season.

IUPUI shot 15-for-51 (29 percent) in the game. It was the third time last season the Bison held a league opponent under 30-percent shooting. IUPUI's 45 points were a season-low for the Jaguars, as well as for all NDSU opponents.
Tale of Two Halves: The Bison have flipped the switch at halftime this season, posting a significant shooting advantage in the second half of games. NDSU is shooting 44 percent in the first half and 49 percent in the second half this season. Bison opponents are shooting 42 percent in the first half and 39 percent in the second half.
The Closer: Dexter Werner has made 35-of-45 shots after halftime this season for an impressive 78 percent.
Paul's Production: Junior guard Paul Miller is averaging 21 points and eight rebounds over the last four games. He was named The Summit League's Player of the Week on Jan. 3 following two wins over South Dakota State and Omaha.
Streak Snappers: The Bison snapped South Dakota State's 34-game home win streak on Dec. 28 with an 80-69 comeback victory in Brookings. SDSU's run was the 2nd-longest active streak in the nation -- and it started following an NDSU win in Frost Arena on Jan. 25, 2014.
Take Care: NDSU committed only eight turnovers against South Dakota State on Dec. 28 -- a season-low for the Bison vs. D-I opponents. Three days later, NDSU made just 10 turnovers in a win vs. Omaha.
Second Half Burst: NDSU has topped 50 points in the second half in the last two games. The Bison scored 58 at South Dakota State on Dec. 28 and 53 vs. Omaha on Dec. 31.
Rebound Machine: Dexter Werner is averaging 13 rebounds over the last three games, and he has double-digit boards in six of the last seven contests. Over those seven games, Werner is averaging 14.1 points and 11.0 rebounds per game and shooting 73 percent.
