AMES, Iowa – Senior Alex Renner won the shot put, and junior Landon Jochim improved his school-record time in the 400m dash to headline the efforts of the North Dakota State men's track & field team at the Iowa State Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Jochim (Bismarck, N.D.) ran 47.23 in the 400m for fourth place, cutting 0.18 seconds off his school record time from three weeks ago. That time ranks Jochim among the top 50 in the NCAA this season.
Sophomore Jacob Richter, Jochim's former high school teammate at Bismarck Century HS, posted a 400m personal-best of 48.33, moving up to sixth-fastest in NDSU history.
The Bison men placed four in the top eight in the shot put at Iowa State, with Alex Renner winning at 61-02.25 (18.65m).
