Stroh Moves to No. 2 All-Time at NDSU in Hammer Throw at Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. – North Dakota State junior thrower Steffan Stroh recorded a career-best toss in the hammer throw to open the 2017 outdoor season, highlighting the performances by the Bison men's track & field team on Friday evening at the Baldy Castillo Invitational.
Stroh (Underwood, Minn.) moved up to No. 2 in NDSU history in the hammer throw, posting a mark of 205-11 (62.78m) for second place in the meet. He now trails only All-American Casey Orgon (2013) on the NDSU hammer throw all-time performance list.
Stroh's mark on Friday surpassed his previous best in the event by two and a half feet.
NDSU senior Alex Renner finished seventh in the hammer throw at 197-7 (60.24m), and senior Conrad Schwarzkopf took 10th with a throw of 184-5 (56.21m). Bison junior Jacob McBride was 11th in the meet, posting a throw of 182-10 (55.74m)
Bison junior Brian Ferry clocked a personal-best 54.55 in the 400m hurdles to take 14th place.
The Baldy Castillo Invitational will conclude on Saturday.
