This Week's Games: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (10-10 overall, 2-3 Summit League) hosts Omaha (7-15, 2-4) on Thursday night and Western Illinois (10-8, 1-4) on Saturday afternoon inside the Scheels Center on the NDSU campus.

History with Omaha: Thursday will be the 78th meeting between North Dakota State and Omaha dating back to 1935-36. NDSU has a 46-31 lead in the series.

Last Time vs. Omaha: The Bison lost their 2017 regular season finale at Omaha on Feb. 25 last season, falling 96-92 at Baxter Arena to finish second in the league standings.

Paul Miller scored 32 points on 16 shots for NDSU, making 6-of-12 from three-point range. Dexter Werner recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
         Omaha senior guard Marcus Tyus had 27 points to lead the Mavericks. Omaha shot 15-for-29 (52 percent) from three-point range and 58 percent overall.

History with Western Illinois: Saturday will be the 23rd meeting between North Dakota State and Western Illinois dating back to 2007-08. NDSU holds a 15-7 lead in the all-time series. The Bison have won nine straight over the Leathernecks.

Last Time vs. Western Illinois: Â In a game that saw 20 ties and 14 lead changes, the Bison emerged victorious over Western Illinois on Feb. 18 last season, winning 100-91 in double overtime at the Scheels Center.

Paul Miller led the Bison with 29 points. On Senior Day, NDSU senior Carlin Dupree matched his career-high with 22 points, and senior forward Dexter Werner posted 21 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and two steals.
         WIU senior Garret Covington led the Leathernecks with 32 points. Western Illinois made 10 of its first 12 shots from three-point range, but missed its final 10 attempts from beyond the arc to finish 10-for-22.
         The Bison made 36-of-43 (84 percent) at the free throw line, coming within three makes of tying the school record of 39 in a game.

Solid Senior: Although
A.J. Jacobson's scoring average is down this season, he is having the most efficient year of his career. Jacobson's field goal percentage (50.0%), three-point percentage (48.6%), and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9) are all the best of his career.

1,500 Point Club: Senior
Paul Miller needs eight points to become the 12th player in NDSU history to reach 1,500 career points.

Winning the Arc: NDSU ranks among the top 75 teams in Division I in both three-point percentage (38th) and three-point FG defense (74th). Since their 88-79 win at North Dakota on Dec. 9, the Bison are shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc.

Record Rate on 3-Pointers: The Bison are making 9.4 three-pointers per game this season, which is on pace to match the school record of 9.4 treys made per game in the 2001-02 season. In the Division I era, the NDSU season record for threes per game is 7.7 last season.

20-Plus: Paul Miller has scored 20 or more points in seven consecutive games. His 24.2 points per game in league play ranks second in the league behind only Mike Daum of SDSU.

Tyson Ward recorded his fifth double-double against North Dakota on Jan. 16 with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

At the Charity Stripe: NDSU was averaging 13.8 free throw attempts through 11 contests, but has averaged 21.9 free throw attempts over the past nine games. Over those nine games, the Bison are shooting 78.2 percent (154-for-197) at the free throw line.

Assists Increase for Miller: Paul Miller is averaging 3.7 assists per game this season. Over the first three seasons of his career, he averaged 1.5 assists per contest.

Top 3-Point Shooting League: For the second season in a row, The Summit League is the top three-point shooting conference in all of Division I. Summit League teams have combined to shoot 37.7 percent from beyond the arc this year. Last season, the Summit League led all conferences by more than one full percentage point, shooting 37.9 percent for the year.
