      The North Dakota State Bison women's soccer team (6-5 overall, 3-1 Summit) returns home to host Summit League-leading South Dakota State on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. at Dacotah Field. The match will be broadcast on MidcoSN across the region, as well as on Bison 1660 radio and 92.7 FM.
 
The Series with South Dakota State
       NDSU is 10-11-3 all-time against the Jackrabbits, with the teams splitting a pair of meetings last season. The Jacks won 4-0 in Brookings in the regular season finale on Oct. 29, but the Bison posted a 2-0 victory in Fargo in the Summit League Tournament semifinals on Nov. 2.
 
North Dakota State Notes
  • Sunday will be the 25th meeting all-time between North Dakota State and South Dakota State since the series began in 2000.
  • SDSU had won three straight over the Bison until NDSU defeated the top-seeded Jackrabbits 2-0 in the semifinals of the Summit League Tournament last season.
  • The Bison scored a pair of goals in a span of less than three minutes in the second half at North Dakota on Oct. 7, earning a 2-1 victory. Trailing 1-0, NDSU netted two goals in 2 minutes and 30 seconds to surge into the lead. Bison senior Hanna Norman beat UND keeper Olivia Swenson in the 76th minute, and senior Malley O'Brien scored for NDSU in the 78th minute.
  • Following Sunday's victory, the Bison have now won four of the past five meetings with North Dakota.
  • Senior forward Holly Enderle is coming off her most productive week of the season. Enderle scored two goals against Denver on Oct. 4 and notched two assists at UND on Oct. 7.
  • Bison junior Mariah Haberle has a pair of two-goal games since Sept. 20, scoring two in NDSU's win over Grand Canyon in Hawaii, then two more in the Bison victory over Purdue Fort Wayne. Haberle now has four two-goal games in her career.
  • NDSU's five goals at Purdue Fort Wayne on Sept. 30 were its most in a Summit League match since a 5-0 victory over the Mastodons on Oct. 23, 2016.
  • NDSU senior defender Hanna Norman was named The Summit League's Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 1. Norman scored two goals, including the game-winner at Western Illinois, as the Bison allowed only one goal in 194 minutes of action.
  • Senior midfielder Roxy Roemer leads the Bison with seven assists this season, adding one in each match last week vs. Denver and North Dakota.
  • Junior goalkeeper Monica Polgar is tied for fourth all-time at NDSU with 23 career wins.
  • Junior Mariah Haberle leads the Bison in points (12), goals (5), shots (47) and shots on goal (23).
  • Sophomore midfielder Danielle Algera and junior goalkeeper Monica Polgar have played every minute of every regular season match this year. Sophomore defender Maddie Burnstein has played 1,016 out of 1,019 minutes.
 
About South Dakota State
  • The Jackrabbits enter the week with a record of 8-4-1 overall and a 3-0 start to Summit League play. SDSU hosts South Dakota on Thursday night before the trip to Fargo. The Jackrabbits are 3-2-1 in road matches this season.
  • SDSU is unbeaten over its previous five matches (4-0-1), with its last defeat coming at the feet of Arizona State in Brookings on Sept. 10.
  • Freshman midfielder Karlee Manding leads South Dakota State with five goals this season, and junior Carina McLennan tops the team with four assists. Senior Annie Williams leads the Jacks with 32 total shots and 14 shots on goal.
  • Junior goalkeeper Maggie Smither has posted seven shutouts in her eight victories this season, allowing an average of 0.69 goals per game.
  • SDSU was voted preseason No. 2 in The Summit League after winning the league's regular season crown last year.
