STILLWATER, Okla. -- The North Dakota State University men's cross country team finished 19th at the NCAA Midwest Regional held at the Oklahoma State University Cross Country Course on Friday afternoon.
Junior
Alex Bartholomay (Bowman, N.D.) was the top finisher for the Bison men, crossing the line in a 10k time of 32:26.6 for 72nd place overall. NDSU sophomore
Keiser Freetly placed 76th with a time of 32:31.4
Freshman
Payton Smith (33:32.2) took 129th place, senior
Evan Kottsick (33:35.6) was 132nd, and redshirt freshman
Josh Samyn (33:59.6) completed the team scoring for NDSU in 148th.
Both Bartholomay and Freetly improved more than 50 places over their showings at last year's regional meet.
Tulsa captured the men's team title with 37 points, and Iowa State's Edwin Kurgat won the individual championship for the second straight year in 30:38.1.
The Midwest Regional featured runners from 31 teams spanning nine states (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota).
