NDSU Men Take 3rd at Summit League Cross Country Championships

ASHLAND, Neb. – The North Dakota State men's cross country team placed third at the Summit League Championships on Saturday morning at Mahoney State Park.
The Bison finished with 76 points in the team standings to take third. South Dakota State won the team title with 38 points, and North Dakota was second with 46. It was the 11th straight top-three finish by the Bison at the conference cross country meet.
NDSU's top seven runners all recorded personal-best times for the eight-kilometer race.
Sophomore Ethan Moe was the top finisher for the Bison, earning a sixth-place finish in 24:01.1 for the 8k. NDSU senior Jacob Knodle placed ninth in 24:10.4.
Bison sophomore Carl Rekow finished 18th in his Summit League Championships debut, running 24:33.9. Will Gerber was the No. 4 runner for NDSU, taking 19th in 24:34.9. Sophomore Ivan Askim completed the team scoring in 24th place with a time of 24:37.7.
NDSU sophomore Quinn Roehl also posted a top-30 finish, crossing in 24:47.7 for 28th place.
Moe earned All-Summit League first team honors for his top-seven finish, and Knodle claimed All-Summit League second team status.
The Bison men will race next at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 14 in Stillwater, Okla.
