EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 16-ranked Northwestern University recorded four major decisions in defeating North Dakota State 28-18 in a non-conference dual on Sunday Nov. 24, in Welsh-Ryan Arena.
 
North Dakota State (2-2, 0-0 Big12) is scheduled to host Augustana University (0-1, 0-0 NSIC) in a non-conference dual Sunday, Dec. 1, in Scheels Center. Sunday has been designated the Takedown Cancer match.
 
All three NDSU wins came by pin. Sawyer Degen (6-2 overall, 3-1 duals) in 2:13 over Alec McKenna at 141 pounds. It was Degen's second pin of the season. No. 10-ranked Andrew Fogarty (8-0, 4-0) in 2:24 over Shayne Oster at 165 pounds. It was Fogarty's third pin of the season. No. 26 Brandon Metz (8-0, 4-0) in 2:20 over Jack Heyob at 285 pounds. It was the first pin of the season for Metz.
 
Northwestern (2-1) won both matches featuring ranked wrestlers. Ranked No. 3 at 125, the Wildcats' Sebastian Rivera had a takedown in the first period and then another midway in the third for a 7-3 decision over No. 7 Cam Sykora (3-1, 3-1). At 174, No. 26 Tyler Moreland edged No. 24 Lorenzo De La Riva 8-6.
 
Northwestern No. 10 149-pounder Yahya Thomas, No. 3 157 Ryan Deakin, No. 25 184 Jack Jessen and No. 16 197 Lucas Davison all had major decisions.
