Bison Women Named Summit League Indoor Track & Field Favorites; NDSU Men Picked 2nd

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The North Dakota State University women were voted the conference favorites in The Summit League's Indoor Track & Field preseason poll, and the Bison men were picked to finish second in the league.
 
The Bison women were voted the preseason favorite for the 12th time since joining the league, garnering the maximum of six first-place votes. South Dakota was picked second, and South Dakota State, North Dakota and Oral Roberts filled out the women's preseason top five.
 
The 12-time defending indoor champion Bison aim for their 13th-straight women's team title in 2020.
 
The Bison men were voted second behind defending indoor champion South Dakota State in the preseason poll. SDSU received 24 total points and four first-place votes, while NDSU had 22 points and two first-place votes. South Dakota was picked third behind the Jackrabbits and Bison, and Oral Roberts came in fourth.
 
The NDSU men have captured seven indoor team titles in the past 12 years.
 
Sophomore Akealy Moton and junior Kelby Anderson were named preseason "Athletes to Watch" for the women, and NDSU juniors Alex Talley and Tony Ukkelberg were recognized on the men's side.
