Bison Women Tied for 11th on Opening Day of Grand Canyon Invite

First Round/Partial Second Round Results
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Darkness brought the opening day of the Grand Canyon Invitational to a close earlier than expected Saturday, as the North Dakota State women's golf team is tied for 11th after the opening day.
Emma Groom is currently tied for 10th after the opening day. With a pair of birdies in the first round, Groom shot a 75. With four holes to go in the second round, Groom is one-under and has a pair of birdies. Alexis Thomas is currently tied for 31st with three holes to play in the second round. Thomas shot a 78 in the opening round and is one-over in the second round. She had a birdie in the opening round and has one in the second round.
Camryn Roadley is tied for 31st after the first day. She tied a season-low with a 73 in the first round, as she tallied three birdies. With four holes left in the second round, Roadley is six-over and has a birdie in the round. Taylor McCorkle is currently tied for 59th after shooting a 78 in the first round with a pair of birdies. McCorkle is five-over in the second round and has a birdie with four holes to play.
Sierra Bennion and Maddie Herzog are currently tied for 92nd with four holes to play in the second round. Herzog shot an 80 in the first round with a pair of birdies, while she has two birdies in the second round and is eight-over. Bennion had a birdie in the first round and has two so far in the second round, as she sits at four-over.
The Bison are currently tied for 11th after shooting a 306 in the first round. NDSU is +14 for the second round. Toledo sits in first as a team with a 285 after the first round and four-over for the second round. South Dakota State's Teresa Toscano is in first after shooting a 70 in the first round and being two-under in the second round.
Play will resume at 9 a.m. (Central) on Sunday with the conclusion of the second round before completing the third and final round at GCU Championship Course.
