SPRING, Texas - Van Holmgren finished in the top 10 for the second-straight meet, as the North Dakota State men's golf team finished in a tie for second at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, hosted by Houston Baptist.

The meet was shortened to two rounds due to playing conditions in Texas. It was the fourth top-five finish by the Bison this season.

Holmgren tied for second after shooting a 70 in the second round, finishing with a 142 for the two rounds. It was his second top five finish of the season and fourth of his career.

Andrew Israelson and Lucas Johnson both shot a 73 in the second round, as they tied for ninth with a 144 for the two rounds. It was the third top 10 of the year for Israelson and his ninth of his career, while it was the first of the season for Johnson and third of his career.

Nate Deziel tied for 45th with a 152 for the two rounds. Deziel cut six strokes off his first round score by shooting a 73 in the second round. Jed Baranczyk rounded out the lineup for the Bison, as he tied for 55th with a 154 after shooting a 77 in both rounds.

NDSU tied for second with Houston after shooting a 289 in the second round, totaling 580 for the two rounds. Florida Gulf Coast edged the Bison and Cougars with a 578. Stetson's Baylor Payne took top individual honors with a 141.

The Bison return to action March 8-9 at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nev.
