BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Sophomore Taylor McCorkle is tied for 10th after the opening day of the Jackrabbit Women's Golf Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
McCorkle shot a 78 in the first round and an 80 in the second round, giving her a 158 for the day. She had a pair of birdies in the first round and one in the second round. With three first round birdies, Sierra Bennion shot an 86. She followed with a birdie in the second round for an 81, as she is tied for 42nd with a 167.
Emma Groom had two birdies in the first round and one in the second, as she is tied for 45th with a 168 for the two rounds. Groom shot an 82 in the opening round and followed it with an 86 in the second round. Alexis Thomas is tied for 59th with a 174 for the two rounds. Thomas shot an 86 in the first round and an 88 in the second round. Camryn Roadley shot a 91 in the first round and followed with an 88 in the second round, as she is tied for 68th with a 179 over the first two rounds.
The Bison had three players playing as individuals, led by Lexi Geolat's 169 to sit in a tie for 49th. Geolat had a birdie in each round, shooting an 85 in the first and an 84 in the second round. Maddie Herzog shot an 87 in the first round and an 85 in the second round, as she is tied for 53rd. With three birdies on the day, including two in the second round, Herzog shot a 172 on the day. Katelyn Martin had a birdie in each round, as she is tied for 59th. Martin shot an 89 in the first round and followed with an 85 to sit with a 174 for the two rounds.
South Dakota State and Xavier are tied for the team lead with a 618 over the first two rounds. The Bison are in 11th place with a 667, shooting a 332 in the first round an a 335 in the second. South Dakota State's Teresa Toscano has the individual lead with a 147 over the two rounds.
The final round gets underway at 9:45 a.m. (Central) on Tuesday at the Boulder Creek Golf Course.
