Bison Women Shoot Tourney Low on Final Day of Jackrabbit Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The North Dakota State women's golf team shot the lowest round of any team in the tournament on Tuesday, as the Bison finished eighth at the Jackrabbit Invitational.
Taylor McCorkle led the Bison, as she finished in a tie for 12th with a 236 for the tournament. She shot a 78 in the final round, including three birdies. Emma Groom had the best round of the tournament for the Bison, as she shot a 73 in the final round. Groom finished in a tie for 27th with a 241 that included four birdies on the final day, including three on the back nine.
Sierra Bennion tied for 36th with a 244 for the tournament. She had her lowest round of the three on the final day, finishing with a 77 that included a pair of birdies. Alexis Thomas shot a 74 in the final round, her lowest of the three rounds, to finish in a tie for 44th. Thomas had a 248 for the three rounds that included a pair of birdies on the final day. Camryn Roadley rounded out the Bison lineup, as she finished in a tie for 63rd with a 260. Roadley had her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, finishing with an 81.
Lexi Geolat, Maddie Herzog and Katelyn Martin were entered as individuals. Geolat shot her best round of the three on Tuesday, as her 82 put her in a tie for 53rd with a 251, that included a birdie. Herzog was just behind Geolat, finishing in a tie for 55th with a 252. Herzog also had her best round on Tuesday, shooting an 80. Katelyn Martin had a pair of birdies in the final round, as she finished in a tie for 59th. Martin shot an 81 on Tuesday to finish with a 255.
NDSU's 302 in the final round was the lowest by any team over the three rounds, as the Bison shot a 969 for the three rounds as a team. Xavier won the team title with a 923, edging host South Dakota State by a stroke. Teresa Toscano from South Dakota State won the individual title with a 222.
The Bison are back in action on Thursday, March 14, at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah.
