First Round Results

ST. GEORGE, Utah - In its second tournament of the week, the North Dakota State women's golf team is in sixth place after the opening round of the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course.

The Bison shot a 308 in the first round and sit 16 strokes out of first place. California Baptist has the lead with a 292, while Xavier is in second with a 295.

Taylor McCorkle leads the way for the Bison, as she is tied for 18th with a four-over 76. Alexis Thomas and Camryn Roadley were both just a stroke behind McCorkle with a 77, as they are tied for 23rd.

Emma Groom is in a tie for 34th after the opening round, as she shot a 78 to start the invitational. Sierra Bennion rounded out the Bison lineup, as she is tied for 52nd with an 81.

The Bison had three players entered as individuals, as Lexi Geolat led that group with an 82 to sit in a tie for 56th. Maddie Herzog is tied for 63rd after an opening round 83, while Katelyn Martin is tied for 80th with an 89 after the first round.

Sitting at two-under, Oral Roberts' Sarah Bell has the individual lead after the opening round with a 70.

The final day of the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational begins at 10 a.m. (Central) on Friday, March 15 at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah.
