SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The fourth-seeded North Dakota State men's basketball team knocked off No. 2 seed Omaha in the championship game of the Summit League Tournament on Tuesday night, earning the program's third NCAA Tournament berth in six years.

Vinnie Shahid led all players with 22 points, scoring 20 after halftime, to earn tournament MVP honors.

Tyson Ward had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Bison, and
Cameron Hunter added 12 points.

NDSU committed only five turnovers in the game and shot 47 percent from the floor. The Bison went 10-for-24 from beyond the arc.

The Bison led 41-27 at halftime. Omaha opened the second half on a 12-2 run to make it 43-39, but NDSU responded with an 8-0 run to go back up 12 at 51-39 with 11:30 left.

The Mavericks rattled off a 12-0 run to tie the game at 51-51 with 8:30 on the clock.

Shahid scored seven straight points to key a 9-0 Bison run, and NDSU led 60-51 with three minutes left.
Jared Samuelson drilled a corner three with 1:05 left to put the game out of reach, and Shahid made six free throws in the final minute.
