BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The North Dakota State men's golf team had its best round of the weekend on Saturday, as the Bison finished ninth at the Jackrabbit Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Van Holmgren led the way for the Bison, as he shot a 72 in the final round. Holmgren tied for 10th with a 222 for the three rounds. It was his fifth top 10 finish of the season and 10th for his career. Holmgren had three birdies, including back-to-back on holes six and seven. Andrew Israelson and Nate Deziel tied for 47th, as they both finished with a 230. Both Israelson and Deziel shot a 73 in the final round. Israelson had three birdies on the day, while Deziel had a pair.

Lucas Johnson tied for 63rd after shooting a 74 in the final round. Johnson finished with a 235 for the three rounds. Johnson finished the third round with five birdies. Will Holmgren rounded out the scoring for the Bison, as he tied for 71st with a 237. W. Holmgren shot an 86 in the final round, including an eagle on the fourth hole.

The Bison had two individual entries in Jed Baranczyk and Dax Wallat. Baranczyk finished in a tie for 63rd with a 235 after shooting a 78 in the final round. Baranczyk had three birdies on the back nine. Wallat tied for 76th with a 241, shooting a 78 in the third round.

James Madison won the team title with an 865 after shooting a 287 in the final round. The Bison finished ninth with a 905 after shooting their lowest score of the weekend, a 292, in the final round. Nacho Montero from James Madison won the individual title with a 203, shooting a 68 in the final round.

NDSU returns to action on Friday, March 15 at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz.
