Bartholomay Earns Highest Bison Finish at Griak

FARGO, N.D. – Junior Alex Bartholomay paced the North Dakota State men's cross country team at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by Minnesota on Saturday morning, earning the highest finish by a Bison runner at the Griak in NDSU's Division I era.
Bartholomay (Bowman, N.D.) took 20th place overall to lead the Bison men in a personal-best eight-kilometer time of 25:23.0.
The Bison men finished ninth out of 14 teams competing Saturday at Les Bolstad Golf Course. After Bartholomay, NDSU junior Tim Heikkila placed 32nd with a time of 25:35.9, and sophomore Keiser Freetly ran an 8k personal-best of 25:52.9 for 46th place.
A pair of freshmen rounded out NDSU's top five to complete the team scoring. Isaac Huber took 63rd in 26:18.3, and Payton Smith was 84th in a time of 26:46.7.
Duke captured the men's team title with 34 points, and Southern Utah was the runner-up with 54.
The Bison will race next at the UND Ron Pynn Classic in Grand Forks on Oct. 19.
