FARGO, N.D. – The University of Wyoming won eight of 10 bouts including a pair of pins and a major decision over the last five to defeat North Dakota State 34-6 in a Big 12 Conference dual on Friday, Jan. 10, before 553 spectators in Scheels Center.
 
North Dakota State (3-3, 0-1 Big12) is scheduled to travel to No. 11-ranked Iowa State (3-1, 1-0 #Big12WR) for a Big 12 Conference dual at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in Ames.
 
After the Cowboys won the first three matches by a total of five points, NDSU 157-pounder Jared Franek won 8-4 over No. 33-ranked Dewey Krueger, and Luke Weber moved up a weight class and outlasted Cole Moody 10-7 at 165 pounds to cut the deficit to Wyoming lead to 9-6.
 
Both NDSU wrestlers placed in the top six at the Southern Scuffle on Jan. 1-2. Franek picked up his third win over a nationally-ranked opponent, and is now 16-6 overall and 4-2 in duals. Weber won his first dual this season and improved to 12-7 overall
 
Wyoming (3-6, 1-0 #Big12WR) received pins from No. 10-ranked 174 Hayden Hastings and No. 24 Brian Andrews at heavyweight, along with a major decision from 197 Tate Samuelson to highlight the bull rush. The Bison forfeited at 125 pounds.
