Bison Women’s Golf Finishes 12th at Grand Canyon Invitational

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The North Dakota State women's golf team cut 12 strokes off its first-round score and moved up a spot on the final day of the Grand Canyon Invitational.
The Bison finished 12th with a 622 overall after shooting a 305 in the final round. Grand Canyon won the meet with a 576. Grand Canyon's Alexis Linam won the individual title with a six-under 138.
Sierra Bennion shot a 74 in the final round, leading the Bison with a 151 for the two days. Bennion had a pair of birdies in the final round, finishing in a tie for 27th. Alexis Thomas tied for 48th, as she shot a 78 in the final round for a 155 overall. Thomas opened the back nine with a birdie on the final day.
Lexi Geolat moved up six spots, as she tied for 61st overall with a 158. Geolat shot a 77 in the final round. Taylor McCorkle and Camryn Roadley each shot a 77 in the final round, as they tied for 64th with a 159 overall. McCorkle had a birdie on the 12th hole, while Roadley had three birdies in the final round.
Playing as an individual, Maddie Herzog moved up two spots as she finished in a tie for 11th. Herzog shot a 73 for the second-straight day, finishing with a 146. Herzog had three birdies in the final round.
NDSU returns to action March 9 at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Las Vegas.
