ELKHORN, Neb. – The North Dakota State women's golf team picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday at the Stampede at the Creek at Indian Creek Golf Course.
The Bison put together rounds of 304, 296 and 299 for a season-low three-round score of 899. It marked the lowest score by an NDSU team in a 54-hole tournament since 2019. Creighton came in second with a final score of 908, while Weber State rounded out the top three with a score of 914.
Leah Skaar led the way with a career-best third place finish after carding rounds of 73, 74 and 76 for final score of 223.
Catherine Monty also matched a career-best fourth place finish after notching rounds of 77, 76 and 71 for a career-low score of 224.
Maddie Herzog tallied her fifth career top 10 finish coming in tied for eighth place with a season-best score of 227.
Jo Baranczyk, who was making her Bison debut, finished in 14th place with a score of 230.
Lexi Geolat closed out the group tied for 34th place with a score of 246.
Elise Hoven competed as an individual and notched a score of 233 to finish tied for 22nd place.
Ava Wallerich also played an individual coming in 28th with score of 241.
As a team, NDSU connected on 10 birdies and 52 pars on the par 72 course. Herzog registered a team-best four birdies and Monty delivered a tournament-best 17 pars.
The Bison will return to action at the Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational at Tacoma Country Club in Tacoma, Wash., on Oct. 11-12.
