Otterdahl, Bartholomay, 4x4 Headline Bison Performances at Iowa State

AMES, Iowa – Following Saturday's performances at the Iowa State Classic, the North Dakota State men's track & field team has three throwers among the NCAA's top 15 in the shot put this season.
 
Bison senior Alex Talley, already ranked fifth in the nation for the shot put, threw 64-06.00 (19.66m) to win the event. Sophomore Maxwell Otterdahl threw a personal-best 63-09.50 (19.44m), ranking 11th in the NCAA this season, and he moved up to No. 4 on the NDSU all-time list.
 
Junior Kristoffer Thomsen posted a season-best mark of 63-03.25 (19.28m) in the shot put, climbing to 15th in the NCAA this season.
 
NDSU senior Alex Bartholomay cut two and a half seconds off his career-best in the mile, running 4:05.15 to move up to third in NDSU history.
 
NDSU's Darrien Lipscomb, Cody Roder, Adrian Harris and Jacob Rodin won the 4x400m relay at Iowa State in 3:13.08, ranking sixth-fastest in NDSU indoor history. It was the fastest Bison indoor 4x400m relay in 16 years.
 
In the 400m dash, Roder finished second in 48.04, Harris was fourth in 48.47, Josh Knutson took fifth in 48.56, and Lipscomb was sixth in 48.75.
 
Bison senior Jakob Hanna ran a personal-best 8:22.60 in the 3000m, ranking 10th-fastest in NDSU history.
 
Rodin took fourth among collegiate athletes in the 800m, finishing in 1:51.77. Junior Keiser Freetly clocked an 800m personal-best of 1:54.07.
 
Senior sprinter Alex Brosseau finished third in the 60m dash (7.02) and fourth in the 200m dash (22.05).
 
At the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D., NDSU's Brandon Lewis took the long jump title with a jump of 24-1 (7.34m). Kurt TeBeest won the 800m in an indoor personal-best time of 1:55.12.
 
Jacob Levin recorded continued his run of personal-bests, clocking 49.24 in the 400m. Redshirt freshman Zach Johnson ran a 3000m personal-best of 8:36.38.
 
Noah Shafer cleared 15-11.00 (4.85m) for second place in the pole vault at SDSU.
