BROOKINGS, S.D. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team won its fifth conference indoor team title in six years on Sunday afternoon, taking first at the Summit League Indoor Championships.

The Bison men totaled 200 points to top the team standings, with South Dakota State coming in second at 164.5 points and South Dakota third with 148.

NDSU put an exclamation point on the victory with a title in the 4x400m relay.

Jacob Rodin and
Cody Roder teamed up to take first in 3:11.04 – the second-fastest 4x4 in NDSU indoor history. The Bison now rank 30th in NCAA Division I this season.

Senior thrower
Alex Talley was named the Field Championship MVP, winning the shot put title on Sunday to go with his weight throw crown from Saturday. The West Fargo product won the shot put with a mark of 65-08.25 (20.02m).

The Bison men placed 1-2-3-5 in the shot put for 28 team points, with
Maxwell Otterdahl second,
Kristoffer Thomsen third, and
Trevor Otterdahl fifth.

On his final attempt, junior
Brandon Lewis leapt 47-03.50 (14.41m) to take the triple jump crown – his second title of the meet along with a first-place finish in the long jump.

Tony Ukkelberg won the Summit League heptathlon title with a career-best score of 5,366 points, ranking sixth all-time at NDSU.
Eric VanErp placed third, and
Tyler Enerson was fourth for the Bison.

Roder, a senior from Bemidji, Minn., ran a personal-best 47.63 for second place in the 400m, ranking him second in NDSU indoor history. Harris took fourth place in 47.81, and Lipscomb finished sixth.

Rodin, a junior from Kenmare, N.D., ran a personal-best 1:50.00 to take second place in the 800m. His time was the second-fastest in NDSU indoor history.
Keiser Freetly clocked a personal-best 1:53.52 for fifth in the 800m.

Alex Bartholomay (4:09.65) and
Jakob Hanna (4:09.72) finished 2-3 in the mile. Hanna's time was a personal-best by over six seconds, and he also finished seventh in the 5000m in 14:48.08.

Sophomore
Trent Davis placed fourth in the 60m hurdles. Freshman
Dante White placed seventh in the 60m dash, with his prelims time of 6.89 seconds ranking him ninth in NDSU history.

The Bison men have now won Summit League indoor team titles in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021, reaching 200 points in three straight seasons.
