NDSU Men’s Golf Finishes Ninth at GCU Invitational

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The North Dakota State men's golf team finished ninth at the GCU Invitational at the Grand Canyon University Championship Golf Course Tuesday.
NDSU shot a 307 in the final round, finishing with a three-round total of 880. Wichita State won the team title, shooting an 862, while Michael Salazar of Grand Canyon won the individual title with a 207.
Sophomore Nate Deziel shot a 77 in the final round. Deziel, who tied for 19th after shooting a 217, recorded two birdies in the final round. Junior Lucas Johnson finished tied for 26th after shooting a season-low 72 in the final round, bringing his three-round total to 218. Johnson had three birdies in the final round.
Freshman Jack Johnson had a pair of birdies in the final round, as he tied for 53rd with a 223 overall after a final round 81. Brock Winter tied for 63rd with a 225, as he shot a 77 in the final round. Nate Adams rounded out the scoring for the Bison after shooting a 82 in the final round, finishing in a tie for 80th with a 230.
Sophomore Jed Baranczyk and freshman Gavin Cronkite both competed as individuals. Baranczyk recorded a season-low 71 to finish tied for 63rd with three-round total of 225. Baranczyk had three birdies in the final round. Cronkhite shot an 80 to finish with a three-round total of a 237, as he finished in 91st.
The Bison return to action April 5 at the Golfweek Spring Invitational in Pawleys Island, S.C.
