No. 2 Bison at South Dakota Saturday in Three-Way Tie for First Place

THIS WEEK: North Dakota State returns to the road in Missouri Valley Football Conference play this week in a three-way tie for first place with North Dakota and South Dakota State. NDSU (5-1, 4-1 MVFC) is scheduled to play South Dakota (1-3, 1-3 MVFC) at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D.
TELEVISION: NBC North Dakota will have statewide television coverage with Brian Shawn (play-by-play), Lee Timmerman (analyst) and Ryan Gellner (sideline). Pregame coverage begins at 12 p.m. with Beth Hoole, Devin Fry and Kyle Emanuel. ESPN+ will carry the Midco Sports Network broadcast beginning at 1 p.m. ESPN+ is available by subscription on ESPN.com and the ESPN app.
RADIO: Coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. on the Peterson Farms Seed Bison Radio Network including 107.9 The Fox in Fargo with Jeff Culhane (play-by-play), Phil Hansen (analyst) and Cole Jirik (sideline). Extended coverage locally on Bison 1660 and 92.7 FM includes "Bison Tailgate" from 9:30-10:30, "Bison Game Day" from 10:30-12:30 and the "Bison Hotline" call-in show following the network broadcast.

THE SERIES: This is the 85th meeting between North Dakota State and South Dakota. NDSU leads the all-time series 56-26-2 dating back to 1903.The Bison have won four straight including a 49-14 victory in Fargo last year. NDSU is 23-16-1 in Vermillion with wins in all three visits as a Missouri Valley Football Conference opponent.
LAST YEAR IN FARGO: North Dakota State scored touchdowns on its first four possessions and rolled up 700 yards of total offense in last year's 49-14 home win over South Dakota. Ty Brooks carried 10 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns as the Bison rushed for 419 yards altogether. Hunter Luepke scored his first two career TDs on a 7-yard rush and 3-yard pass from Zeb Noland. Linebackers Jackson Hankey and James Kaczor made nine tackles each for the Bison defense, which held USD to a season-low 245 yards and had 10 tackles for loss including five sacks.
LUEPKE CARRIES BISON PAST UND: Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week Hunter Luepke rushed 28 times for 190 yards and three TDs in his first game back from injury to carry North Dakota State to a 34-13 win over North Dakota last week. Luepke previously had seven carries for 70 yards in 15 career games. NDSU rolled up a season-high 316 rushing yards and averaged 5.9 yards per carry against a UND defense allowing just 85.3 yards per game in four previous contests. The Bison converted 7 of 13 first downs and controlled the ball for more than 36 minutes of the game, including almost 21 minutes of the second half after taking a 21-6 halftime lead on Christian Watson's 63-yard TD from Zeb Noland. UND was 1 of 10 on third down. James Kaczor made a team-high seven tackles and safety Dom Jones made his second interception in two games.
