NDSU Men’s Golf Second After First Round of Stampede at the Creek

ELKHORN, Neb. – The North Dakota State men's golf team opened play at the Stampede at the Creek Monday. All pairings did not complete the second round due to a weather-related suspension.
NDSU sits in second as a team after shooting a 302 in the first round. South Dakota was just a stroke ahead of NDSU for the team lead after the first round, while South Dakota's Matt Tolan and Tate Arends share the individual lead with a 73.
Sophomore Nate Deziel and freshman Brock Winter both shot a 74 in the first round, as they are tied for second. Winter recorded three birdies. Sophomore Jed Baranczyk and freshman Nate Adams both shot a 77, as they are tied for 18th. Baranczyk and Adams recorded a pair of birdies. Freshman Jack Johnson and junior Lucas Johnson both shot a 79 in the opening round, as they are tied for 35th. L. Johnson recorded a solo birdie in the first round.
Freshman Gavin Cronkhite, who is competing as an individual, shot a 78 in the first round and is tied for 25th. The Bison recorded nine birdies and lead the field with 65 pars.
The Bison will resume second and third round action Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. at Indian Creek Golf Club.
