Bison Women’s Golf Opens Play at Stampede at the Creek

ELKHORN, Neb. – The North Dakota State women's golf team opened play at the Stampede at the Creek Monday. Some pairings did not complete the second round due to a weather-related suspension.
NDSU shot a 332 in the first round, sitting in sixth place. South Dakota State leads the team and individual competitions after one round with a 314, while Teresa Toscano leads with a 73.
Junior Taylor McCorkle shot a 79 in the first round, as she is tied for 12th. Sophomore Maddie Herzog shot an 82 in the opening round, sitting in a tie for 18th. Junior Lexi Geolat shot an 84, as she is in a tie for 28th after the opening round.
Freshman Leah Skaar and senior Alexis Thomas both shot an 87 in the opening round, as they are tied for 33rd. Freshman Catherine Monty shot an 89 in the opening round, closing the Bison lineup in a tie for 41st. The Stampede at the Creek is using a six-player lineup. Freshman Holly Murphy, who is competing as an individual, shot an 87 in the opening round and is tied for 33rd.
Herzog, Monty, Skaar and McCorkle all finished with a pair of birdies.
The Bison will resume second and third round action Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. at Indian Creek Golf Club.
