Bison Women Finish 2nd at Summit League Indoor Track & Field Championships

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – For the first time since joining The Summit League in 2008, the North Dakota State women's track & field team did not win the league's indoor team championship on Saturday. South Dakota's women took the title with 200.5 points, and the Bison earned runner-up honors with 152.
 
NDSU had claimed 14 consecutive Summit League indoor team titles and 27 straight conference championships overall, including outdoor.
 
Senior thrower Amanda Anderson won NDSU's lone individual event title on Saturday, taking the crown in the shot put with a throw of 51-1 (15.57m).
 
Senior distance runner Kelby Anderson claimed second place in both the mile and 5000m. With her 3000m title from Friday night, Anderson was named the Championships Track MVP as the highest-scoring individual in the running events.
 
The Bison women finished 2-3-4-5 in the triple jump, led by Jodi Lipp in second at 40-00.75 (12.21m). Alissa Melvin took third at 39-08.75 (12.11m), Grace Emineth was fourth at 39-04.50 (12.00m), and Daejha Moss placed fifth at 38-11.50 (11.87m).
 
Nell Graham was the Summit League runner-up in the 400m, running an indoor personal-best of 55.21. She moved up to ninth-fastest in NDSU indoor history.
 
The Bison women took second in the 4x400m relay with the team of Graham, Claire Howell, Kaci Cooper and Angel Pratt running 3:45.93.
 
Moss placed third in the high jump, clearing 5-7 (1.70m). Salmata Korgho finished fourth in the 60m hurdles.
 
Allie Wahlund took fourth in the 5000m, running 17:12.42 to stand at No. 9 on the NDSU all-time list. Freshman Grace Link placed fourth in the mile in 4:53.59, ranking 10th-fastest in school history.
 
Pratt (56.62), Grace Brenner (57.20), and Claire Howell (57.23) finished sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400m dash.
