PHOENIX – The North Dakota State women's golf team finished tied for 10th place at the Grand Canyon Invitational at GCU Golf Course.
The Bison assembled rounds of 303, 297 and 302 for a three-round score of 902. Grand Canyon won the tournament with a score of 860. Santa Clara came in second place with a score of 865 and SMU rounded out the top three one stroke back in third place with a score of 866.
Jo Baranczyk paced the Bison finishing tied for 34th place registering a career-low three-round score of 225.
Catherine Monty (82-72-74--228) and
Lexi Geolat (76-78-74--228) finished tied for 46th place.
Leah Skaar (77-80-75--232) came in tied for 68th place, while
Maddie Herzog (75-76-86--237) rounded out the group tied for 78th place.
Elise Hoven competed as an individual and put together rounds of 72, 77 and 74 for a career-low three-round score of 223 to finish tied for 26th place.
NDSU totaled 159 pars with Herzog and Monty each contributing a team-best 35. The Bison also tallied 32 birdies.
The average score on day two on the par 72 course was 77.50.
NDSU will be back in action at the Pizza Hut/Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah on March 10-12.
