FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State had four former football players work out at NDSU's annual pro day Thursday, March 24, which attracted a large crowd of scouts and coaches representing 29 NFL clubs.
Tight end Josh Babicz, defensive end Brayden Thomas, offensive lineman Cordell Volson and wide receiver Christian Watson went through measurements, timed runs and position drills during the morning workout.
The day started with hand, arm, wingspan, height and weight measurements in the Sanford Health Athletic Complex weight room before performing the bench press, broad jump and vertical jump.
After moving into the Dacotah Field Bubble, the players ran the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle and three cone drill before position-specific workouts.
Current NDSU quarterback Cam Miller was the passer for Watson and Babicz for their receiving drills. Volson and Minot State's Sebastian Gutierrez went through offensive line drills, and Thomas was the final player to work out at defensive end.
The 29 NFL clubs in attendance was the second largest turnout in recent NDSU pro day history behind the 2021 workout that drew 30 teams to see quarterback Trey Lance, the eventual No. 3 overall pick.
Players will continue to train and participate in workouts and interviews with clubs leading up to the NFL Draft, which is scheduled for April 28-30 in Las Vegas.
