NEWTON, Kan. – The North Dakota State women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Summit League Championship on Tuesday afternoon at Sand Station Golf Course.
The Bison moved up one spot in the final round to fifth place after carding rounds of 316, 306 and 307 for a three-round total of 929. Denver (292-285-291--871) won the Summit League Championship by 21 strokes with a three-round total of 871. Oral Roberts (299-295-298--892) came in second place, while South Dakota State (301-298-294--893) finished in third.
Catherine Monty (82-73-73--228) moved up four spots in the final round to finish in 16th place. The Stillwater, Minn., native notched three birdies and hit par on each of the final seven holes in round three.
Jo Baranczyk (75-77-79--231) finished in 22nd place, while
Lexi Geolat (79-76-80--235) also cracked the top 25 and came in tied for 25th place.
Leah Skaar (80-80-76--236) finished tied for 27th place and
Elise Hoven (84-80-79--243) rounded out the group tied for 35th place.
The average score on the par 72 course over three rounds of play was 78.07.
