Rodin Breaks School & Facility Records in 600m at Bison Team Cup

FARGO, N.D. – Jacob Rodin broke his own school record and facility record in the 600m on Saturday afternoon, highlighting the performances of the North Dakota State men's track & field team at the Bison Team Cup.
Rodin ran 1:17.88 to win the 600m, improving on his previous NDSU all-time best of 1:18.03, as well as his facility record of 1:18.18 from last season.
NDSU freshman Jarod White cleared 16-06.75 (5.05m) to win the pole vault. He is now tied for seventh-best in NDSU indoor history, recording the best vault by a Bison since 2014.
NDSU freshman Blake Nyenati ran 8.07 for second place in the 60m hurdles, tying for 10th-fastest in school history. Nyenati also took second place in the 200m dash in 22.50. Brock Johnsen clocked a personal-best 8.10 for third place in the 60m hurdles.
Senior Beau Brannan ran a personal-best 1:21.24 for second place in the 600m – 11th-fastest in NDSU history.
Unattached NDSU graduate Trevor Otterdahl won both the weight throw and the shot put on Saturday, posting winning marks of 71-10.00 (21.89m) in the weight and 59-10.25 (18.24m) in the shot.
NDSU's Kaden Pastian was the top collegiate finisher in the weight throw with a mark of 64-11.50 (19.80m) that now ranks him ninth in school history and 33rd in the NCAA this season. NDSU's Cam Landis was the top collegian in the shot put with a throw of 58-11.25 (17.96m) for second place overall.
Jacob Levin claimed the 400m title in 49.71, and Cullen Curl was third in 50.02.
Elijah Hylen and Braden Brown both cleared 6-06.75 (2.00m) in the high jump, finishing second and third in the meet.
Levi Rockey registered an indoor personal-best of 57-5 (17.50m) in the shot put.
The Bison will compete next on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the SDSU Jim Emmerich Invitational in Brookings, S.D.
