Skaar Named Summit League Golfer to Watch

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Junior Leah Skaar has been named to the Players to Watch list and the North Dakota State women's golf team was picked to finish tied for fourth place in the 2023 Summit League Preseason Poll, the league office announced on Thursday.

Skaar registered a team-best 75.21 average in the fall and was named to the All-Summit League Second Team last season. The Gold Canyon, Ariz., native notched a team-best three top 10 finishes during the fall portion of the schedule, including a win at the Jackrabbit Invitational.

As a team, the Bison were picked to finish tied for fourth place with South Dakota State after picking up 42 points. Denver was in the top spot with 64 points and eight first-place votes, while Oral Roberts was positioned second with 57 points and one first-place vote. South Dakota closed out the top three in third place with 45 points.

The Bison begin their spring schedule at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz., at GCU Golf Course on Feb. 27-28.
