NDSU Women’s Golf in First Place at Loyola Parkinson Family Invitational After Day One

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. - The North Dakota State women's golf team is on top of the leaderboard with a three-stroke lead after day one at the Loyola Parkinson Family Invitational at Merit Club on Monday afternoon.
The Bison assembled rounds of 304 and 299 for a two-round total of 603 and are in first place at the 12-team tournament with four Bison positioned in the top ten. California Baptist (308-298—606) is in second place, while Bowling Green (313-302—615) is slotted in third place.
Madi Hicks (79-70—149) finished +5 on the par 72 course in two rounds after totaling five birdies and sits tied for third place. Elise Hoven (73-77—150) shot +6 to take sixth place and notched seven birdies.
Leah Skaar (74-80—154) and Catherine Monty (79-75—154) are both tied for 8th place at +10, while Norah Roberts (78-77—155) sits tied for 13th place.
Cora Larson (80-78 –158) is tied for 21st place and Jo Baranczyk (81-78—159) is tied for 29th place. Ava Wallerich (85-81—166) is also tied for 59th place. All three competed as individuals for the Bison.
As a team, the Bison totaled a tournament-best 105 pars and 23 birdies. The average score through two rounds of play was 81.36.
