ST. GEORGE, UTAH – The North Dakota State women's golf team finished in fourth place at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course on Saturday afternoon.
NDSU put together rounds of 294,304 and 295 for a three-round total of 893 to finish in fourth place in the 16-team tournament. Wyoming (290-302-293--885) and California Baptist (296-297-292—885) finished tied for first place.
Jo Baranczyk assembled rounds of 74, 73 and a career-low 70 in the final round for a career-low 217 to move up six places on the leaderboard to finish in second place. The Green Bay, Wis., native notched four birdies to finish -2 on the par 72 course in the final round of play.
Leah Skaar (73-77-76--226) cracked the top 25 coming in tied for 22nd place with a three-round total of 226.
Elise Hoven (73-76-80--229) and
Madi Hicks (74-78-77--229) finished tied for 33rd place.
Catherine Monty (83-80-72--235) closed out the group coming in tied for 59th place.
Maddie Herzog (80-77-79--236) carded a season-low 236 to finish tied for 63rd place.
Cora Larson (81-77-82--240) came in tied for 76th place and
Ava Wallerich (82-82-81--245) finished tied for 84th place.
The average score through three rounds of play was 77.62.
NDSU will be back in action at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz., on Saturday, March 18.
