OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota State women's golf team finished in second place at the Stampede at the Creek on Tuesday afternoon at Indian Creek Golf Course.
The Bison (302-287-303--892), who tied a season-low 287 in round two, finished in second place and two strokes behind the tournament winner Creighton (293-295-302--890). South Dakota (298-308-300--906) rounded out the top three in third place in the nine-team tournament.
Catherine Monty (74-72-74--220) notched her second top three finish of the season coming in second place with a career-low 220. She also tied a career-low 72 in round two after posting 10 pars and three birdies.
Jo Baranczyk (78-70-75--223) earned her third top five finish of the season finishing tied for fourth place. She tied a career-low 70 in round two and totaled 12 pars with four birdies.
Madi Hicks (76-70-81--227) and
Elise Hoven (77-75-75--227) finished tied for 10th place.
Maddie Herzog (75-82-81--238) came in tied for 38th place, while
Leah Skaar (80-82-79--241) closed out the group tied for 46th place.
Cora Larson (77-74-76--227) also finished tied for 10th place and
Ava Wallerich (77-79-78--234), who tied a career-low 234, came in tied for 33rd place. The duo played as individuals.
The average score for the tournament was 78.29.
NDSU will be back in action at the Summit League Championship in Lincoln, Neb., on April 23-25 at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
