NDSU Women’s Golf Mid-Pack at Grand Canyon Invitational

PHOENIX – The North Dakota State women's golf team is positioned in 10th place after the first day at the Grand Canyon Invitational at GCU Golf Course on Monday.
Catherine Monty (76-70--146) paces the Bison tied for 31st place and tied a career-low 70 in round two. She was even on 11 holes in the second round and carded five birdies to finish -2 on the par 72 course. Norah Roberts (73-74--147) is nine spots back tied for 40th place. She tallied four bridies in the opening round to post a +1 before notching two birdies in the second to finish +2.
Madi Hicks (76-72--148), Elise Hoven (72-76--148) and Leah Skaar (74-74--148) are all tied for 44th place. Hicks rebounded in the second round with a 72 after being even on 12 holes and registering three birdies. Hoven got off to a fast start in the first round following five birdies to notch a 72, while Skaar recorded a +2 in back-to-back rounds. Cora Larson (76-75--151), who played as an individual, closed out the group tied for 66th place.
New Mexico State sits in first place at -17 in the 21-team tournament. UC Riverside is in second place with -9, while Montana State and Seattle are tied for third place at -1. NDSU (290-295--585) sits +9 in 10th place.
