COLUMBUS, Ohio – North Dakota State men's golf opened up the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on Friday on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University. The Bison shot a +19 round of 303 to sit in 16
th.
The Bison, who were part of the second wave to tee off on the day, struggled in the opening round, with
Nate Adams and
Josh Galvin leading the way with +4 rounds of 75. Adams was the only Bison to score a birdie for NDSU on the day, with one on the par-5 12
th. The duo sit tied for 47
th in the 99-golfer field.
Jack Johnson was third for NDSU on the day, shooting a 76 to sit at +5 in a tie for 57
th.
Jake Skarperud and
Ian Simonich wrapped up the day for NDSU, shotting rounds of 77 to sit at +6. The duo is tied for 75
th heading into the second round.
NDSU sit 16
th out of 18 teams and enter round two 16 shots behind Kent State, who lead after the first day at +3. The Bison will be in the morning wave on day two and are set to begin teeing off at 7 a.m. CT.
