Kraft Competes Wednesday in Javelin at NCAA Outdoor Championships

FARGO, N.D. – Senior javelin thrower Matt Kraft will represent the North Dakota State University men's track & field team at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., on Wednesday, June 5.
Kraft will be making his second consecutive appearance at the national meet. The javelin is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. CT / 5:45 p.m. PT on Wednesday at Hayward Field, with an event-specific live video stream on ESPN+.
Kraft (Bismarck, N.D./Legacy HS) placed 17th in the javelin last year in Austin, Texas, earning honorable mention All-America status. He is the back-to-back Summit League champion in the event, with a personal-best throw of 234-11 (71.61m) that ranks fourth on the NDSU all-time list.
Kraft has surpassed 70 meters in the javelin at five consecutive meets leading into the NCAA Championships.
Based on season-best marks among the NCAA qualifiers, Kraft is ranked 19th entering the meet.
All-America Honors
The top eight finishers in all events will earn first team All-American honors, places 9 through 16 will be named second team All-Americans, and all other national meet competitors will receive honorable mention status.
Javelin-to-NCAAs Pipeline
Kraft's NCAA Championships appearance will be the ninth for the North Dakota State men in the javelin over the past nine seasons.
