Roller Competes in Javelin at NCAA Outdoor Championships Wednesday

FARGO, N.D. – Sam Roller will represent the North Dakota State University men's track & field team at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., on Wednesday, June 11.
Roller will be making his first appearance at the national meet. The javelin is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. CT / 5:15 p.m. PT on Wednesday at Hayward Field, with an event-specific live video stream on ESPN+.
Roller (Thompson, N.D.) threw 231-1 (70.43m) on his final attempt at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds to qualify, setting a career-best by three feet. He ultimately finished eighth in the meet, with the top 12 finishers earning spots at the NCAA Championships in Eugene.
Based on season-best marks among the NCAA qualifiers, Roller is ranked 21st entering the meet.
All-America Honors
The top eight finishers in all events will earn first team All-American honors, places 9 through 16 will be named second team All-Americans, and all other national meet competitors will receive honorable mention status.
Javelin-to-NCAAs Pipeline
