NDSU Soccer Falls at Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, Fla. – North Dakota State soccer fell to Florida Atlantic Sunday evening in non-conference play, falling 4-0 at FAU Soccer Stadium.
Florida Atlantic took the lead on the game's first shot in the third minute with a goal from Hailey Santiago. The Bison would answer with a couple shots that forced saves, including one that was tipped over the bar from Gabrielle Garrett.
However, The Owls would strike again on a counter attack in the 23rd minute as Sloane Young doubled FAU's advantage, holding a 2-0 lead headed into halftime.
In the 61st minute, Florida Atlantic would add their third goal on a cross through the box, with Madison Micioni knocking it in. Young would score five minutes later to cap the scoring for Florida Atlantic.
Florida Atlantic led the Bison 10-5 in shots in the game. NDSU had five corners to four from the Owls. Payton Mulberry finished with two saves for NDSU and Hannah Stipp had the final save for the Bison.
NDSU will be back in action on Thursday, September 18, as the Bison travel to Washington State to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule. NDSU will take on the Cougars with kickoff set for 9 p.m. CT/7 p.m. PT from Lower Soccer Field in Pullman, Washington.
