SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second straight week and fifth time this season, junior forward
Avery Koenen has been named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Koenen helped the Bison (15-2, 4-0 Summit) start Summit League play 4-0 for the third straight season and extend their win streak to 13 games with wins over Kansas City and Omaha.
Koenen averaged 15.0 points and 16.0 rebounds per game to go along with a team-high nine assists. The Montevideo, Minn., native narrowly missed a triple-double against Kansas City after tying a career-best 16 rebounds with 17 points and a career-high six assists. Koenen closed the week tying a career-best 16 rebounds with 13 points in the win over Omaha.
Koenen enters the week ranked in the top 10 nationally in free throw attempts (2nd, 125), double-doubles (4th, 12), field goal percentage (5th, 64.1), free throws (7th, 91), rebounds (9th, 186) and defensive rebounds per game (9th, 8.1).
