SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State softball's
Bella Dean and
Jocelyn McClary were named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, sweeping the honors after the opening weekend of the season.
Dean led the Bison offense on opening weekend, hitting four home runs, including her third career multi-home run game with two homers in the season opener. Dean finished 9-for-18 with nine RBI, six runs scored and a 1.278 slugging percentage.
McClary tossed 14.2 scoreless innings in the circle for NDSU, including a shutout over 2025 NCAA Tournament team North Florida. McClary went 1-0 with a save, also tossing 7.2 scoreless innings in two games against Colgate. She finished with 14 strikeouts and just one walk allowed.
It is the fourth Summit League Peak Performer honor for Dean in her career, while McClary earns her first Peak Pitcher accolade. McClary is the first Bison freshman to win a Summit League Weekly accolade since
Madison Wihlm in 2024.
It is the first sweep of the awards for the Bison since March 4, 2024 when Dean and Wihlm took the honors.
