THIS WEEK
The North Dakota State Men's golf team will tee off the spring portion of their season at the Loyola Intercollegiate. The tournament will take place at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona on February 15-17.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The Loyola Intercollegiate will be a 54-hole tournament played across three days. The event will begin on Sunday and continue through Tuesday. Each round will feature a shotgun start that is slated to tee off at 7:45 a.m. MT / 8:45 a.m. CT.

THE TOURNAMENT FIELD
Hosted by Loyola Maryland, the event will feature 20 teams in the competition. Along with the Bison, the tournament field includes Richmond, Marshall, Bucknell, Northern Colorado, SIU-Edwardsville, UT-Martin, Air Force, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Denver, Seton Hall, South Dakota State, Missouri State, Idaho, Utah Valley, NC State, Omaha, and Holy Cross. Grand Canyon will also be sending two individuals to compete in the event.
THE COURSE
Located just outside of Phoenix, the Palm Valley Golf Club is home to three championship-level 9-hole courses. With the ability to play three different 18-hole layouts, the Palm Valley Golf Club is perfect for players and tournaments of all skill levels. The tournament will be played on the North/South combination, which were designed by the renowned architect Arthur Hills. The North course is known for its signature 9th hole, a long par 5 with stunning scenery. The South course features a great mix of challenging yet playable holes, with its signature being the par 3 7th hole. Together, the courses create a par-72 18-hole course that spans a yardage of 7,015, and holds a rating of 73.0 and 130 slope. Palm Valley Golf Club is proud to host a wide variety of tournaments, including the US Am Tour Palm Valley Classic and annual national-level juniors tournaments.
BISON AT THE LOYOLA INTERCOLLEGIATE
This will be NDSU's third consecutive appearance at the Loyola Intercollegiate. The tournament has been hosted by Loyola Maryland annually since 2012. The Bison finished ninth out of 19 teams in 2025, with one NDSU golfer placing in the top-10. In 2024, the Bison set the program record for lowest 54-hole score of 824 (-40) to take the team title, and
Jake Skarperud claimed his first career victory after finishing with a score of 202 (-14).
LAST TIME OUT
NDSU finished their fall season with a seventh-place finish at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic.
Jake Skarperud was the highest placing Bison, finishing just outside the top 10 in 15th overall with a final score of 212 (-4).
BISON COMPETING
NDSU will take six golfers out west for the Loyola Intercollegiate. The Bison competing will be

Carter White, and
Andrew Ballou.
Max Wilson will be the sixth golfer, competing as an individual.
BISON NOTES
- Senior
Jake Skarperud will begin the spring season after being named to the Summit League Golfers to Watch list. Skarperud currently leads the Bison with the lowest 54-hole score of the season of 209 (-4), along with most rounds at par or better with 10.

Rylin Petry enters the Loyola Intercollegiate following a strong fall semester. Petry picked up his first collegiate victory at the Metropolis Intercollegiate to begin the season, and sits with the second lowest season average of 71.88 through 17 rounds.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the Loyola Intercollegiate, the Bison will have a full week off before heading west to the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate. Hosted by Stetson, the tournament will be hosted at the LPGA International - Hills Course at Daytona Beach, Florida on March 2-3.
