Mehrkens Leads NDSU Women at UND Tune-Up

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team competed at the UND Tune-Up on Friday, serving as the final meet in preparation for the Summit League Indoor Championships next weekend.
Redshirt freshman Kendra Mehrkens won the 60m dash in a personal-best 7.56, moving up to No. 6 on the NDSU all-time list.
Arienne Birch cleared a season-best 5-09.25 (1.76m) to win the high jump. Senior Julia Gherardi won the pole vault, clearing 12-05.50 (3.80m).
Adison Kapitzke won the shot put with a mark of 46-00.75 (14.04m).
Competing unattached, Elise Wisnewski won the 200m in 24.43. Sophomore Emelia Skistad ran an indoor-best 24.60 to place second.
Freshman Julia Link ran a season-best 2:16.77 in the 800m for second place.
Yolanda Nabwe was the runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 18-08.50 (5.70m). Hope Stein took third with a personal-best 18-07.75 (5.68m). In the triple jump, Grace VanErp went 39-05.25 (12.02m) for second place.
Nabwe also recorded a 60m hurdles personal-best of 8.71. Sydney Arndt won the event, running unattached, in 8.37.
Bison freshman Kasey Soderholm took first in the 3000m with a time of 10:28.38.
