The North Dakota State women's golf team will continue their spring season at the SoCal Spring Invitational. Hosted by Morehead State, the tournament will take place at Sterling Hills Golf Club in Camarillo, California on March 8-10.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The SoCal Spring Invitational is a 54-hole tournament played over three days. One round will be played each day of the event, with tee times scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. PT/ 12:00 p.m. CT for rounds one and two, and 7:30 a.m. PT/ 9:30 a.m. CT for the final round.

TOURNAMENT FIELD
The SoCal Spring Invitational will host 15 teams in the competition. Along with the Bison, the field includes CSU Bakersfield, Murray State, Creighton, Morehead State, Notre Dame, Eastern Washington, Western Michigan, Nebraska-Lincoln, South Dakota, Lehigh, Lindenwood, CSU Northridge, Memphis, and Providence College.
THE COURSE
Designed by Robert Muir Graves and Damian Pascuzzo, the 18-hole championship course located at Sterling Hills is regarded as a hidden jewel of the Southern California golf scene. Located half-way between Los Angeles and Santa Barbra, the course highlights the natural geography of the area and features lush avocado and citrus groves along scenic fairways and large greens. Spanning a yardage of 6,820 from the back tees, the par-71 course offers fun yet challenging play for golfers of all skill levels. In addition to the SoCal Spring Invitational, Sterling Hills Golf Club hosts events for all levels of golf, including regular PGA Jr. League events and PGA Playing Ability Tests for aspiring tour-players.
BISON AT THE SOCAL SPRING INVITATIONAL
This will be the debut for NDSU at the SoCal Spring Invitational and the first year that Morehead State will be hosting the event.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bison are coming off a team victory at the El Campeon Collegiate in late February. NDSU won the tournament by four strokes to claim their second team title of the season. Junior
Norah Roberts was the individual champion for the event, claiming her first collegiate tournament win.
Madi Hicks and
Jeri Lafleche also placed in the top-10 for the event.
BISON COMPETING
NDSU will send six golfers to California for the 5-score-4 tournament. The Bison competing include
Norah Roberts,
Madi Hicks,
Cora Larson,
Avery Bartels,
Jeri Lafleche, and
Hannah Dunk, who will be competing as an individual.
ON THE LINKS
- Junior
Norah Roberts earned her first career tournament victory at the El Campeon Collegiate, winning by one stroke. Roberts currently leads the team in most rounds at/below par with three, and holds a scoring average of 75.90 through 20 rounds of play.
- Senior
Madi Hicks picked up her third top-10 finish of the season after finishing as the runner-up at the El Campeon Collegiate. Hicks now has 17 career top-10 finishes, which is the fourth-highest in NDSU history.
- Freshman
Jeri Lafleche earned her first career top-10 finish after just five events of competition. Lafleche will enter the lineup as a potential scorer for the first time in her career at the SoCal Spring Invitational.
LOOKING AHEAD
NDSU will take a full week off after the SoCal Spring Invitational before heading down to Arizona for the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate. Hosted by Minnesota, the event will take place at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz. on March 23-24.
