SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Freshman left-handed pitcher Sheamus Ryan was named the Summit League Newcomer of the Year as seven Bison earned All-Summit League honors, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.
Ryan becomes the second pitcher in program history to be named the Newcomer of the Year after Max Loven accomplished the feat in 2019. Ryan logged three saves across eight appearances in league play. The Calgary, Alberta native tossed 19 strikeouts over 35.2 innings with a league-best 2.02 ERA. Ryan, who was also named to the All-League Second Team, made two starts in Summit League play, including his first career complete game with six strikeouts at St. Thomas on March 15.
Parker Puetz was named to the All-League First Team for the first time in his career after posting 25 strikeouts over 30.1 innings before his season was cut short due to injury. The Volga, S.D., native limited opponents to a .274 batting average with a 4.15 ERA, which ranked fifth in the Summit League. It also marks the fourth straight season the Bison have had at least one All-League First Team pitcher selected.

The Andover, Minn., native paced the Bison with six home runs and scored a team-high 18 runs in league play. Additionally, Law led the Summit League with a .671 slugging percentage.
